Maguire very sore after horrific fall

Adrian Maguire was back at home in Oxfordshire today after escaping serious injury in an horrific fall at Stratford.

Fears that the jockey had incurred kidney damage when kicked by other horses as he lay on the ground following a tumble from Lutine Bell proved unfounded.

'He`s in bed, there`s nothing broken and his kidneys are fine. He`s just very, very sore all over,' said Maguire`s wife Sabrina this morning.

'I don`t know when he`ll resume riding. We`ll take it a day at a time.'

Maguire was taken straight to hospital in Warwick with suspected kidney injuries and later released after undergoing tests.

He was setting the pace on the Hugh Collingridge-trained gelding in the GG-Media Novices` Handicap Hurdle when his mount came down at the fifth flight.

Maguire was caught by the hooves of the oncoming runners on hitting the ground and lay motionless before being attended by racecourse medics.
